Age Requirement
You must be at least 20 years old at the time of application. There is no upper age limit.
Citizenship
You must be a citizen of an approved country. Eligibility depends on citizenship, not country of residence. The DTV is available to citizens of the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia, EU member states, and many other approved countries.
Proof of Funds
Bank balance of at least 500,000 THB (approximately $14,000 USD / £11,000 GBP). Funds must be in a bank account, not investments or cryptocurrency. Learn more about proof of funds →
Remote Work Status
You must be able to demonstrate that you work remotely for employers, clients, or platforms located outside Thailand. This applies to employed remote workers, freelancers, self-employed individuals, and business owners. Learn about remote work documentation →
Passport Validity
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay in Thailand and have at least one blank page for the visa stamp.
Health Insurance (Optional)
While not always strictly required for the initial visa application, Thai immigration may request proof of health insurance covering your stay. Many applicants obtain insurance as a precaution.

- Europe: UK, Ireland, all EU member states, Norway, Switzerland
- Oceania: Australia, New Zealand

Remote Work Categories
The DTV visa accommodates different types of remote workers:
- Remote Employees: Working for a company outside Thailand
- Self-Employed/Freelancers: Working for clients outside Thailand
- Digital Nomads: Content creators, influencers, online business owners
- Company Directors: Running a business registered outside Thailand

What Disqualifies You?
These factors will likely result in visa rejection:
- Under 20 years of age
- Citizenship from a non-eligible country
- Insufficient proof of funds (below 500,000 THB)
- Unable to demonstrate remote work capability
- Passport expiring within 6 months
- Criminal record or immigration violations in Thailand
